Privacy

This statement explains which personal data is processed when you use ozguragcakaya.com, why, and what your rights are. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/revDSG) and, for visitors from the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

In short

• No cookies for tracking or advertising, and no cookie banner, because none is needed.
• Visitor statistics are anonymous and cookie-free; you can switch them off below.
• What you type into the contact form is sent only when you press Send. Before that, a draft is kept only in your own browser.
• Your data is not sold and not used for advertising.

Visiting the website

When you open a page, your browser sends technical data that every website receives: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the previous page (referrer), browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the site securely and is processed by:

• Hostinger International Ltd. (web hosting and email), with servers in France (EU), which stores server logs for a limited time.
• Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), which protects the site against attacks and abuse and speeds up delivery. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie (__cf_bm). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Frameworks.

Purpose: operating and securing the website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f), legitimate interest).

Visitor statistics

I count visits with my own statistics on this website’s server (Hostinger, France); no analytics company is involved. No cookies are used and no IP address is stored. To count a visitor once per day, a short code is formed from your IP address, your browser identification and a random value that is replaced every day; old values are deleted, so visits cannot be linked across days or traced back to you. Counted are: pages viewed, where a visit came from (e.g. a search engine or LinkedIn), country, device type, and these actions on the site: which group you choose under “Who do you need help for?”, which service you open, which example you choose in “How I work”, which timeline entry you open, clicks on the WhatsApp and email links, whether the contact form was started, moved to step 2 and sent (never its content), how far a blog post was read, and pages that were not found. The results are only available to me as totals; the data is deleted after 13 months. Known bots and crawlers are only counted by name. Browsers that send “Do Not Track” are not counted at all.

Purpose: understanding which content and services are useful, so the site can be improved (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). You can switch counting off for this browser with the button below.

Spam protection

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated spam. Turnstile processes technical data from your browser (such as IP address and browser characteristics) when the form is used.

Contact form, email and WhatsApp

When you send the form, I receive your message, any files you attach, your name, and the email address and/or phone number you give, plus which group and service you had chosen on the site. If you give an email address, you receive a confirmation. The data is used only to answer you and, if we work together, for the project (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Email is handled by Hostinger.

If you write via WhatsApp, the message is processed by WhatsApp (Meta Platforms); WhatsApp’s own privacy terms apply.

Retention: enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted 12 months after the last contact. Project correspondence and invoices are kept as long as Swiss law requires (up to 10 years for business records).

Data stored in your browser

• agk-door: the group you chose, so the site remembers it on your next visit.
• agk-contact-draft: your unsent message, so it is not lost if you close the page; deleted after sending.
• agk-stats-off: only if you switch off counting below.
• agk-src (only for the open tab): the campaign source of a link you followed, e.g. ?ref=linkedin.

These stay on your device and are never sent to me. You can delete them in your browser settings at any time.

Fonts

All fonts are served from this website itself; no font service is contacted.

Your rights

You can ask which data about you I process, have it corrected or deleted, object to its processing, and (in the EU) receive it in a portable form or restrict its processing. Write to [email protected]. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC/EDÖB) or, in the EU, to your national data protection authority.
