Özgür Agcakaya · Electrical engineer · Solothurn

The engineer you talk to is the one who does the work.

No account managers and no hand-offs. Choose a point to see what it means in practice.

  • You work with me, from the first question to the handover.

I take on a limited number of projects so I can do each one myself. The person who answers your first message is the one who measures, configures, tests and documents.

    • No account manager between you and the work
    • No hidden subcontracting to employees or freelancers
    • One contact who knows your whole system
  • You don't have to manage the technical side yourself.

Many clients have no time to run a technical project, or no way to judge what a contractor is doing. I take that part on: I talk to vendors and installers, check their work and turn it into plain decisions for you.

    • I coordinate vendors, installers and suppliers
    • I check third-party work before you accept it
    • You decide; I prepare the options and the facts
  • Every finding, decision and cost is written down.

You get the measurements, the reasoning and the costs as the work happens, not at the end. If something is not worth fixing, or not my field, I tell you before we spend money on it.

    • Written updates at each step
    • Costs agreed before work starts
    • An honest answer when something is not worth doing
  • I measure before I change anything, and test before I call it done.

Guessing is expensive. I find the cause first, fix it, test the result under real conditions and leave documentation, so the next person, or you, can understand the system.

    • Diagnosis before changes
    • Tests and acceptance under real conditions
    • As-built documentation and diagrams at handover

02 · WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU

Who do you need help for?

Wi-Fi and network that work in every room

Wi-Fi coverageMeasured Wi-Fi coverage, not guesswork.
I measure signal and interference through the building, then place and configure access points, wired where possible. You get before-and-after measurements as proof.
Network design and configurationStructured, documented networks that stay easy to maintain.
I plan and configure switches, routers, firewalls and VLANs, and keep office, guest, camera and machine traffic apart. You get a working network, an IP plan and a configuration backup. Cabling is done by an installer; I can specify it and check it.
Troubleshooting and field serviceFind the cause, not just the symptom.
I trace faults across network, fieldbus, devices and software, on site or remotely, with proper measurement tools. You get the root cause and either the fix or a clear recommendation. Also the second pair of eyes when vendors blame each other.

Keep your home and your data safe

CCTV and video surveillanceCameras that record what matters, and nothing more.
I plan camera positions and set up recorders, retention times and secure viewing from your phone without opening the system to the internet. Setups follow Swiss data protection rules, for example not filming neighbours or public ground without need.
Intrusion alarm and access controlAlarm and door access set up, tested, documented.
I configure alarm panels, detectors, keypads and access readers, plus user rights, schedules and notifications. Every zone is tested before handover. If your insurer requires a certified alarm installer, I tell you at the start.
Remote access and VPNReach your systems safely from anywhere.
I set up VPN access so cameras, controllers and files are reachable without opening ports. For industrial sites, vendor access can be per person, logged and time-limited. You get the setup and a short guide for adding or removing users.
Data security and backupBackups that actually restore, and fewer open doors.
I find out what is critical, set up backups (3-2-1) and test a real restore. I close common gaps: default passwords, open ports, old firmware. You get a short report of what was done and what remains.

Use your solar power and charge your car with it

PV, battery and energy managementMake solar, battery and loads work as one system.
I configure inverters, batteries, energy managers and meters so you use more of your own power and can see where it goes. For ZEV and LEG energy communities I help set up metering and the data needed for internal billing. Electrical installation and grid registration are done by a licensed installer.
EV charger integration and load managementCharge the car without overloading the house connection.
I configure the wallbox and link it to the energy manager to charge from solar surplus, and set up load management for several chargers. Installation and notice to the grid operator are done by a licensed installer.
Smart home and building automationLighting, blinds and heating that follow simple rules.
I programme and extend KNX installations in ETS, add logic and visualisation, and connect them to solar, alarm or heating. You get the documented project file, so you are not locked to one company. 230 V wiring is done by an electrician.
Also available, mostly for companies6 services ›
Device and protocol integrationMake devices from different vendors exchange data.
I connect meters, PLCs, sensors and gateways over Modbus RTU/TCP, MQTT or OPC UA, and check every value against the field. You get a tested data path and a documented signal or register list.
Custom integration softwareSmall, maintainable software where no product fits.
I write gateways, protocol converters, data loggers and test tools in C#/.NET, Python or C++. You get the source code and documentation, and you own both.
Commissioning and site acceptance testsBring systems into service and prove they work.
I commission devices, controllers and software on site and test them point by point against the specification. You get a signed test protocol and a clear list of open items. I can write the test procedure or work from yours.
SCADA and control systemsMonitoring and control for distributed sites.
I configure and extend SCADA systems: signal lists, alarms, screens and communication to remote stations, and I find faults on fibre and fieldbus links. I also train operators.
Hardware and PCB testing, test benchesTest boards and devices before they ship.
I measure and debug PCBs and build fixtures and automated test benches, scripted in Python with results logged per serial number. Fixtures and enclosures can be 3D-printed in-house.
Technical documentationDocumentation the next engineer can actually use.
I write as-built documents, network diagrams, IP and signal lists, test reports and operating guides. Your system no longer depends on one person's memory, including mine.

03 · HOW I WORK

Every job runs like a test protocol.

Input, process, output, written down step by step. It starts with a free first assessment, in an online meeting or in writing. Choose a case:

Devices or systems from different vendors that have to work together.

04 · WHAT I'VE DONE

Ten years across every layer of a system.

From network equipment to software to control systems: a national control centre, four metro lines, security platforms with devices from many vendors. Different projects, the same job: make it work, prove it works, write it down.
